Sobibor concentration camp was one of the most deadly extermination camps of the Nazi regime. More than 250,000 Jews were killed in its gas chambers in just 18 months. However, amidst the horror and brutality, a group of Jewish prisoners decided to fight back against their oppressors. In this episode, we will focus on the lead up to the Sobibor revolt and explore the experiences of two key figures, Toivi Blatt and Szlomo Szmajzner. Two Jewish prisoners at Sobibor who played instrumental roles in planning and preparing for the revolt. Through their own words, we will learn about the harsh conditions that prisoners faced and the moments that inspired them to take action against the Nazi regime.
