Anti-Social Studies or Emily’s Historical Stand-up Routine
I started listening out of curiosity, but I keep listening because Emily’s journey through human history continues to enlighten and entertain. She enlightens by filling in gaps in my historical knowledge I had never really thought about. She entertains with a real passion for the subject, and of course who could forget the jokes? Emily has some real, grade-A, Dad-level material in here and it makes me all at once groan and laugh. She reminds me of my wife in that respect, who is always ready with a terrible joke or pun, but you know, in a very endearing way that you can’t help but smile at. Emily is the teacher we would all have been lucky to have. But hey, listen to this podcast and you’re pretty much her student right? Right. 10/10, would travel through time in a phone booth collecting hilarious caricatures of famous historical figures with her.

The early episodes are really useful for studying and understanding the later units in AP World History Modern

I started listening to study for the CSET (teacher’s exam) and loved it so much I became addicted. Also…I passed all my exams and some of my answers derived directly from this podcast! Entertaining and informational is my jam and this podcast nails it. Love it.
