“Sharon created a podcast that gripped my soul. By the end of it, I was standing alone in my kitchen, crying my eyes out with a deep gratefulness for her willingness to share her story, her pains, and her dreams so vulnerably. Her work seems to capture the essence of human longing...and the complexity of relationships and family dynamics. There were moments I found myself frustrated with Melanie, moments I felt annoyed with Sharon breaking the fourth wall. It was a story that didn’t need to put on heirs, and thankfully never tried to. It was raw, it was real, and in a way it was through those moments of frustration that I came to so dearly love Melanie AND wish I could sit down with Sharon for a drink and be in the presence of this brilliant storyteller, who somehow balanced the stubbornness of her protagonist with a sense of deep empathy and relatability to this character, as well as to her true self.
