“I fully enjoy the Armchair Expert podcast. It’s a feel good, entertaining podcast, which gives us the opportunity to learn what makes other’s tick.
I was listening to the Chelsea Handler episode, who I’m a huge fan of. I relish in her transparency.
My only hang up with the episode is when Mormonism came up. Two things: “Mormon” was a nickname given by the locals in the early days of the religion. The actual name of the religion is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS for short, which Monica does make note of in her fact check.
Second, LDS do not believe Jesus Christ was born on the American continent, nor does the Book of Mormon teach that. We believe Jesus Christ visited the Americas in his resurrected state.
Oh, and Dax, you’re right, Joseph Smith didn’t make it to Utah. He died in the Liberty Jail in Liberty, Missouri.
