Wiring diagrams (in words) for people showing how we (dont) work
Dan is the master of helping to reveal ourselves to ourselves, one of the leaders in turning "popular psychology" into "popular electronics". By discussing his peers' research he gives us an insight into groundbreaking revelations about ourselves, and why we dont work the way we think we do. Obviously well-connected in the "industry" he is able to bring prominent leaders to the foreground and help them present their findings in a way that even I can understand. This would be one of the first places to start when investigating this field, to determine where to read or study more deeply. Each of these interviews are essentially "samplers" of the real meat of their research. He has a great sense of humour, puts his guests at ease, and shows an intimacy with their work that brings out the best in them. Personally he has changed my life: after reading his books, and listening to his podcasts, I am now free of the delusion of rationality.
