Don’t make this Beto’s comedy hour
I’m really glad that the LA Times is investing in podcasts like this. It’s a sign the paper is investing in the future and building its brand. My favorite part was when the journalists were speaking about their past experiences and when LeBron was being interviewed. My least favorite was when Beto was cracking really lame jokes with the journalists. He needs to stop making this a comedy hour and let the journalists speak. We don’t care about the Portland food scene or the nicknames of the journalists known only to the Times staff. Let the journalists do what they’re good at: speak! Listen to the ESPN Baseball Tonight podcast: they do a good job of making it interesting and professional.
