“… as usual!
Many times your topics are spot on with what is happening in my life and I love it.
Today, I have been listening to you while attempting the task of tidying in my studio. It is a separate building and isn’t really useable during our cold Canadian winters so now with the return of warmer days, I am returning to what messes I left behind last fall.
While I am overjoyed to be back in my creative space, I want to spin about and walk back out because of the overwhelm of where to begin in sorting and organizing. (My own damn fault, right?)
I had started my own little 5.5.5 ritual in my home over winter to help clear clutter.
Walk into a room, or open a closet or cupboard door and begin … choose 5 items to throw away, choose 5 items to recycle/give away and clean five other objects.
Do no more than that, just like Alice was mentioning today. Once a day of this little formula is sweet, simple, doable and I actually remember it. (Sometimes not remembering can really add to overwhelm in any scenario!)
Yesterday, I knew I needed to begin the regime in the studio. About three separate times during the day I entered and threw out five things and organized five things and then left it.
Today when I returned it all felt lighter and doable. Like standing back from our artwork ~ giving it a day to breath before we dive back in can make all the difference.
Just like you both make all the difference in many of our lives ~ creatively and otherwise!
I am genuinely grateful for your gracious generosity in all you share so brilliantly.
Cheers xx”
