Description
Rachel Le Roux is a British-Filipina multidisciplinary fine artist and interior designer based in Manila Philippines. After graduating with a BA Honours Degree in Interior and Spatial Design from Chelsea College of Art in London, England in 2008 and working twelve years in the local industry, she is slowly beginning to transition into life as a full-time artist after temporarily closing her design business in 2020.  Her work has been featured in Art Seen Magazine and Clover + Bee Magazine. In episode 7, Rachel opens up to Valentine about her multidisciplinary art practice, the dualities they represent, and how she's been elevated by powerful women and supportive networks along the way.  “MY ART COMES FROM A PLACE INSPIRED BY THE IDEA OF HOW TIME IS CEASELESS EVEN YOUR OWN LIFE FEELS LIKE IT IS AT A STANDSTILL. THE FIGURES I DRAW AND DRESSES I PAINT EXPRESS THE INTENSITY OF AN ORDINARY MOMENT THAT SUDDENLY BECOMES AN EXTRAORDINARY ONE JUST BY PAUSING IN THAT SURROUNDING CHAOS BUT IT IS WITHIN THAT PAUSE IS WHERE PEACE CAN BE FOUND A SANCTUARY THAT YOU FIND WITHIN YOUR SOUL, WITHIN YOURSELF - A PLACE THAT YOU HAVE TO DIG DEEP TO FIND AND HOLD ONTO”  www.rlerouxart.com www.instagram.com/rlerouxart www.artmumsunited.com www.instagram.com/artmumsunited www.instagram.com/artmumseurope www.facebook.com/artmumseu www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=MUYN33NSPUTB4 Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=MUYN33NSPUTB4)
