Description
Introducing our new 'Immigrant Diaries' series! Starting with our own families, we want to share these stories across generations.  In today's episode, Jackie interviews her mom and aunt on their experience immigrating to America after the fall of Saigon in 1975. They escaped the Vietnam War by boat at ages 9 and eleven. After getting scammed in the first attempt, Jackie's family was eventually able to secure safe passageway leading them to a handful of refugee camps located in the Philippines, Guam, and then Camp Pendleton in Southern California. From there, their family was sponsored to start their new lives in Maryland. Tune in to hear more on this epic journey! Follow us on Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/asianglowuppod/
