“I have amended my previous 3* review as I really liked the shopping episode - just light, breezy and like chatting with your friends!
Still think the below is relevant to the more serious and in-depth topics. They need more research/wider voices. But I love a chatty sesh!
I really think instead of answering their Facebook community’s questions with their own sometimes limited/ unresearched answers, Lily and Anna could ask for their Fb Group’s stories and experiences on a theme. Then use them to widen your conversation and talk around them. Maybe even encourage voice notes! Ask your community for things that have made them think or feel.
I think some of the 1* reviews are a little harsh, but do think this podcast could be improved - so hopefully the above is a constructive suggestion!
I really loved this when it first came back at the start of lockdown - it felt like sitting down for a cuppa with some friends. I particularly enjoyed the first section when Lily and Anna would share their news and recommendations and just have a chat. But the topics are really hit and miss. I think they are recycling ideas now (and I know it can’t be easy coming up with new content atm!) and feels a bit same-y. Perhaps it’s because I am the same age as them but the agony-aunt / big sister vibes don’t sit that well with me either - and unfortunately at times Lily and Anna haven’t got the best researched answers. They shouldn’t try and be all things to all people - at the end of the day they are privileged white women (I’m sure like, like me, many listeners of their listeners are too!) but their content does feel like an echo-chamber.
Bring on some new voices and ideas! Use that Fb group!”
