“I started listening to this podcast in July 2018 while I was battling with the effects ptsd/depression. My husband kept telling me that I didn’t need pills I needed to read the word! Which as a Christian should’ve have been my first call to action. Anyways I came across johns stange’s podcast and I’ve loved it ever since! What I love about this podcast is that he reads a version of the Bible that is very simple to understand. In the past I’ve struggled with reading the Bible because I thought it was boring and I’d get sleepy while reading it. Also other apps read versions of the Bible that use verbiage like “ cometh, smight, preadventure, etc.” which it’s nice to use big old timey words but for a person who wants to be able to understand the Bible without having a dictionary tab open on their phone as well. This podcast has been super helpful to me in aiding my walk with the Lord. And my anxiety/depression attacks have dwindled. Because now I use the power of the word to comfort me. Also I want to add you have to willingly put in the work to have a relationship with God this podcast can not do it for you it can only give you a medium of how to dive into God’s word. At the end of each episode John stange prays and kind of gives a recap of what it is that we should be thanking God for what he has revealed to us in this chapter. I started listening to this podcast when we were in the book of 1 John now we’re in Leviticus and I can honestly say I learned more in depth knowledge about the Bible in this short period than I have in my whole life. For those that are struggling with actively reading and engaging in God’s word I invite you to try listening to someone else reading the Bible to you while you take notes. That’s what I do and I also like to bible journal/ pray about different verses that speak to my spirit afterward.
Thank you so much John Stange for using your gift and allowing us this opportunity to engage in God’s word.”
