Jesus wasn’t saying to abandon all sense of judgment or discernment but rather to examine the heart behind our judgment. We should love those we judge and let the speck of dust in someone else’s eye remind us of the plank in our own eye. When we look at what Jesus was teaching in Matthew 7, we see that pulling planks from our own eyes help us love God and love others better.
