Emily Louise van Egmond (born 12 July 1993) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for San Diego Wave FC and the Matildas. Van Egmond began playing football at the age of five in her hometown of Newcastle, Australia. She is the daughter of former Socceroo and Newcastle United Jets A-League coach, Gary van Egmond. She made her professional debut for Canberra United in the W-League in 2009 at the age of 16. Van Egmond has since played for a number of clubs around the world, including Western Sydney Wanderers, Newcastle Jets, Melbourne City, 1. FFC Frankfurt, VfL Wolfsburg, Fortuna Hjørring, Chicago Red Stars, Orlando Pride, and West Ham United. She joined San Diego Wave FC in the National Women's Soccer League in 2023. Van Egmond has also had a successful international career, making her debut for the Matildas in 2010. She has since represented Australia at four FIFA Women's World Cups (2011, 2015, 2019, 2023), as well as two Olympic Games (2016 and 2020). She has scored 31 goals in 138 appearances for the Matildas.
