Buffer Music, 3 degrees of separation and Thru-hike dreams
Absolutely love the podcast! I’m a 53 year old firefighter in Florida. Like most people my age I’m not in a position to take 4-6 months off for a thru-hike but over a few years I have sectioned nearly 500 of the AT, couple hundred of the Florida Trail and done the L2H route so as I near retirement the flames to do a thru-hike (probably the PCT) get stoked more every day, especially thanks to this podcast! I love the hiking info given by The cinnamon connection and guests but it’s the banter that keeps me coming back. Stories, inside jokes, tangents and PBR, it’s like we’re sitting around camp after a 20 mile day or at a bar in town on a zero. Everything about it is A+, right down to the buffer music at the show opening. I’m a tad disappointed tho because I had visions of Chaunce playing drums while Badger did the guitar. A simple Shazam told me otherwise, on the bright side, I now have a cool ring tone AND really love the EP “A Good Look” by Private Island. Lastly, one more reason to like and support the show (cinnamon level btw) is Zach and I are part of some weird degree of separation thing. He did some trail magic on the AT at Garenflo Gap (I believe) in 2015. My then 23 yr old thru hiking son, trail name “Fozzy” happened to mention that he’d never done a keg stand. Hilarity ensued and somewhere on the internet for all eternity is my #2 offspring keg standing, in his pack, chugging brown ale. It’s enough to warm a dad’s soul... keep up the great work, look forward to the next episode!!
