Not at all surprised this story originates
in Newport Beach, CA (or rather OC in general). Having lived there for a short period of time, the level of delusion and narcissism rampant amongst the gen pop can’t begin to describe what has to be the closest example to a real life, albeit gorgeous, zombie apocalypse. This story and what seems to be it’s main “character” is a fascinating train wreck that you’ll likely find it hard to look away from, especially if you’re a fan of the standard Wondery formula. Seriously though, the way the bombshell was dropped on the sweet old lady in TX whose simply writing her articles and living her best life was an absolute d**k move! To even imply any of this mess was in some way her fault and leave her beating herself up was irresponsible of the podcast.
