A voice for the women
Absolutely fascinating and balanced podcast that finally gives the women a voice and humanity. Not just ‘prostitutes’ but women with complex lives living in a hard and unforgiving time. The ripperologists and fetishisation of the crimes seem to be a grotesque extension of the misogyny that sadly led to this series of murders in the first place.

I’ve actively avoided Jack the Ripper podcasts because of the proactive denial of the autonomy of the women who suffered at the hands of violence. This pod also highlights the injustices within academia and toward female academics. Absolutely what I needed.
