Humanity, humility and humour
A thoroughly authentic and engaging listen from the first episode. The hosts are an interesting blend, each bringing a unique perspective on the prison experience and the diversification in the second series shows that this pod has real depth and longevity. The input from all contributors is so honest and open and without agenda - it is reminiscent of the Ear Hustle podcast out of San Quentin. Whether it was the intention or not, the podcast does what the criminal justice system seemingly cannot; and humanises those within its care (including the screws!) Would be great to hear from some of the other professions within the walls - medical, education? Or perhaps those charities operating in the prisons/with ex offenders - Nacro, Shannon Trust, Leather inside out etc? So while it delves into some dark places and shines a light on some of the serious systemic issues with the Justice System (also a superb season 2 quick fire question) it is a genuinely great listen with some quality banter. Hooked and can’t wait to hear more. Just wish there was a Redemption Roasters in Glasgow...

I absolutely love this podcast, it’s funny and the latter between the lads and Claire is hilarious. It also is hard hitting and interesting, sure kept me amused as a key worker on the road over lockdown!

A fantastic recount from the experiences of prison life with 2 ex inmates. The host Claire keeps the chat lively, fluid and real. Both Mike and Rob show real honesty and a humble outlook on their respective time in prison. Well worth a listen it’s gripping
