I’ve thought a lot about the playoff and how Barton has said in the past about a Cinderella team/Group of 5 being highly unlikely or impossible, either from a talent or committee bias perspective. Bud, you said the other day that this hurting college football and I heard an interesting take shortly before I listened to your last pod. What if they drop the number of available scholarships at any given school by 15 to 70 and also open the playoff to 8 teams? At the big time programs, their bottom 15 scholarship players are still high 3 and 4 ⭐️ players. What would this look like and would this make CFB more competitive across the board so we can get more of a NCAA men’s basketball tournament result?
Also, what’s y’all short list for National Champion contenders next year? Georgia looks good and looks to be the only major power 5 team except Oklahoma that will have their QB returning. Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, and ND will all have QB’s with limited experience taking over.
