Great for CFB junkies
Rapidly becoming one of my favorite podcasts. Love the coaching carousel talk, and I’ve got a question along those lines. I’m curious about what each of you would find more important when it comes to evaluating coaching candidates, so I’d like to hear you guys rank these hypothetical candidates. In this scenario, you are the AD at a random Power 5 school. How would you order the following candidates: A. A G5 head coach that has had a high level of success (multiple double-digit win seasons and conference titles), but has never spent any time coaching or recruiting in the region your school is located. B. A G5 head coach that has had moderate success (regularly makes a bowl and is always a conference contender, but has never won the title) at a school located in your school’s region, so he is pretty familiar with the recruiting landscape. C. A P5 coordinator (you pick of the side of the ball, if it matters) at a nearby conference rival that consistently puts out a top-five unit in the country. He knows the region but has no head coaching experience. Interested to hear your thoughts. Keep up the great work guys.
