“I don’t know how these guys do it. Game analysis, coaching scuttlebutt, recruiting, betting...they do it all with a high level of knowledge and insight.
My question: Will coaches be able to spin their relative success handling COVID issues into recruiting wins? Among PSU fans it seems there is a general consensus that Franklin took COVID extraordinarily seriously, perhaps to the detriment of the teams on-field development. For example, they didn’t have a team-wide in person meeting until halfway through the season. However, they have had very few cases and are one of the only teams to complete their entire schedule.
I know there are some other teams (Boston college?) that have had virtually zero cases. Do you think that athletes and parents may look at this and know that the coach is putting their safety first? Will this hurt programs like LSU where there were lots of issues? Or do you think that this won’t matter much now that a vaccine is on the way and the 2021 season should hopefully look fairly normal?”
