“I have listened for a long time now and have loved the content. I have noticed that more of my long loved shows have started bogging their episodes down with a ridiculous amount of ads to encourage ppl to subscribe at a cost to avoid them. I understand the motivation and necessity of making money to maintain the show and that one can pay to avoid ads, but I am not one of the lucky ones who can afford it. I ultimately wouldn’t mind ads, and don’t on many other of the shows I enjoy, who also run a lot of ads, but it is the way they are dropped in on this show that is the reason I can no longer say I love this show. I think it’s not secret people listen to these shows while falling asleep and as someone who has a really hard time falling asleep and staying asleep, I can’t tell you how incredibly angering it is to finally be drifting off only to have a super annoying and super loud ad blast you in the ear balls hard enough to make sleep another hour long endeavor. There’s no excuse to run ads in the middle of a sentence at 20x the volume of the regular audio. I can only conclude it is purposeful which means I won’t be keeping this show on my go to list. So sad that what used to be a great show has now become unbearable due to a totally controllable factor.”
