Description
Welcome to today's podcast episode where I'll be sharing the top 10 advertising mistakes that many lawyers, including myself, have made in the past, so you can avoid them and set yourself up for success. So, you're starting your law practice or trying to grow it, right? You're excited, but let me guess, you're also overwhelmed with all the marketing advice out there? Don't worry, I've been there too. In fact, one of the biggest mistakes I made was spreading myself too thin with advertising. Instead of trying to be everywhere, just choose one advertising medium and master it. Trust me, it's better to do one thing well than multiple things poorly. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: digital marketing. Yes, we can't ignore it any longer. Gone are the days when word-of-mouth was enough. While referrals are still great, it's crucial to have a solid digital marketing strategy in place. And speaking of digital marketing, don't be polyamorous with your social media! Focus on one platform, like Google My Business, and make the most of it. Another common mistake is trying to be a jack of all trades. While it's tempting to offer every legal service under the sun, it's better to specialize in a specific area and target a particular client base. This will help you become an expert and attract the clients you really want to work with. Have you ever hoped and prayed for great reviews? Well, don't just wait for them to happen. Instead, when you have happy clients, don't be shy to ask them for reviews. This will help build social proof and attract even more clients to your practice. Now, I know we're all smart and capable as lawyers, but don't be a know-it-all! Seek guidance from experts, get mentored, and learn from those who have been where you want to go. This will only help you grow faster and become a better lawyer. Lastly, let's talk about your brand. It's not just about your business card, font, or logo. Your brand is how you deliver service to your clients and what they can expect each and every time. Think about what sets you apart, what kind of transformation you want to provide, and let that shine through in every aspect of your practice.
