Absolutely Amazing
I’ve listened to every episode of Be The Serpent and can happily say that it is a delight from start to finish!! 😊🎉 Alex, Macey and Freya are wonderful hosts as your Serpents, bringing their energy and endless book recommendations to each episode, so be warned your To Be Read pile will quickly become a volcano as Macey says. As well as this, their discussions around each episodes theme and how the trio of books or fanfics have impacted them never fail to entertain their audience with their banter and wise words. As well as this, each episode closes in a very sweet and positive fashion for the listener so I would encourage you to listen right to the end as it’s a nice touch. 😊 Due to this podcast, I have discovered a live action show called The Untamed, which is brilliant btw; and through that I have also discovered an anime/book series called Heaven Official’s Blessing (as the books were written by the same author) which if you haven’t heard of PLEASE go investigate it as it is one of the most romantic, adorable things I have ever had the pleasure of finding and can now say I am a part of that fandom for life. 🍁 As a listener you can really tell how much love these three have for all things bookish, writing and fanfic which is a wonderful thing and something anyone with an interest in the aforementioned should check out immediately. So my suggestion…. Clear out your calendars, find a comfy seat and a bit of paper to mark all your new books/fanfic/show recommendations on and get listening!! 📚📚

Which is: women (and non-binary folk) talking about the things they geek and laughing. Waiting impatiently for the squid, maths, and quantum entanglement episode. (Suggested tentpole: Binti)

An extremely interesting exploration of tropes and themes and writing tied together in a unique way. I love how they use three different pieces of media to examine similarities and as springboards for discussion.
