Description
There are different sides to everyone and celebrity Kevin Clifton shares some of his in this captivating episode. He talks about his new home with Stacey and how he is learning to embrace space and minimal style in this fascinating insight into a celebrity we have all been used to seeing every week on ‘Strictly’ As someone who has spent a lifetime in the spotlight, he explains what it’s really like and the value of self-awareness and internal validation along with the challenges of social media and why finding what brings you joy is the way forward.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I was around dancing all of the time it was part of my routine. ‘Burn the Floor’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’ are two of the biggest things theatre shows I have been part of. When you don’t get a job, you have to use it as a learning experience. There are different sides to everyone and when I was on Strictly that was a different side of me. It can be easy to accumulate stuff but having a minimal environment is what makes it calming. Stacey has an eye for what fits well in a space and everything has to fit with the aesthetic The thing I love is performing and sometimes in life, it’s about understanding what brings you joy and what is being applied to you by others It’s about being self-aware and having the right people around you Growing up it was dance competitions and I judged myself by how well I was performing and when I was on stage it was about the feedback from the audience. As an entertainer, you are constantly getting external validation for what you are doing Social media is like a  game you put forward your avatar, the profile you choose to be out there. I was brought up on what other people thought about what I was doing so I didn’t stop to think about what I felt internally about things. It was only when I decided to put the real me out there that positive changes came.   BEST MOMENTS ‘There is something very calming about having space’ ‘Becoming aware of your own values and what you want out of life is key’ ‘Validation needs to come from within’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Beehive Household podcast   ABOUT THE HOST Nataliya Lloyd is a finance expert and after 15 years of studying and working in the industry, she changed tack and went with her dream of becoming an entrepreneur and followed her creative call.  She is now the owner of Nataliya Lloyd Interiors, with an Interior Design certification from the Chelsea College of Arts.
