“Such an amazing podcast. These guys are so raw and honest. Not only is this telling the story of Kirra, and her mum Alison, it’s the story of 2 incredible ex-cops who I would never had guessed had suffered such tragedy which manifested in anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD.
Most cops (in my experience) speak with a kind of monotone...maybe it’s only when they’re on the job as a coping mechanism; to detach but these guys show a myriad of emotion, strength, compassion, personality and an obvious, deep friendship between the two.
Boys’, you’re doing such a brilliant job and I’m rapt I got to binge listen today, anxiously waiting for what you present next episode.
The only thing that put me off (for only a few seconds) was the dog barking in the background during quite a poignant moment. You did mention this though.
Thank you for telling your story. As someone who suffers all the above mental illnesses (managed very well where I have a happy life), it was refreshing to hear such heartfelt honesty.”
