Great background discussions of issues
Guardian Australia continues to produce excellent in depth analysis of the issues that underpin the politics of today. This podcast does an excellent job of discussing the political, psychological and social background that underpin these policies. I am very interested in what often appears to be a discrepancy between what the general public seems to feel and the policies espoused by the political parties. I am also very interested on how politicians manipulate and misinform the public so they can get the voters to support their ideological stand even if it is against the long term national interest. This podcast helps answer these questions and shines a light on who and what are influencing the politics and policies of the political parties. I always love discussions that include David Marr and of course Bridie 'not all baby boomers are bad' Jabour is also excellent.
