Description
Barbara Van Orden has had a multifaceted career. She became a leading print model who graced the covers of many leading magazines, eventually segueing into doing television commercials. She became more involved in the entertainment industry when she developed into a night club singer, comedienne and actress. She began her singing career in the Catskill Mountains at Grossinger's where she opened for many of the greats, Milton Berle, Don Rickles and Red Buttons to name a few. She went on to do all of the Playboy Clubs working with Buddy Hackett, Morey Amsterdam, Soupy Sales, the list goes on.  She assumed a recurring role in television's WELCOME BACK KOTTER, and was seen in many TV films and series episodes. In between films and series, Barbara opened for many Vegas headliners.  A horrific accident while crossing the street resulted in 12 breaks in her right leg, five breaks in the left, internal bleeding, crushed back, broken ribs, a fractured disc in her neck and a three inch gash in her skull. After years of therapy and 18 surgeries later, her highly publicized and long awaited return to the stage after the devastating accident has been well received by audiences and critics alike.   Ms. Van Orden battled Workman's Comp for over a quarter of a century to receive her rightful and "Court ordered" medical care and today, she continues to fight for a reformation of Workman's Comp system.     She drops by on Tuesday, August 20, at 7pm EST.
