Logically Fallacious
Just looking at the cover of the podcast, two blatant logical fallacies come to mind. First, the fallacy of hasty generalization is displayed when the hosts assume that since a small minority of cops abuse power, the same must be true for all cops. Second, false analogy is used frequently from this hasty generalization. Comparing Police Officers who are by and large upstanding citizens to Violent Racists like Slaveholders and KLansmen is simply illogical. Was the murder of George Floyd wrong? Yes. Do all police officers behave as such? No. This leads me to also say that this podcast behaves as sort of a attack on the character of police officers, which is shameful and undue. With that being said, I agree that certain police reform is necessary. However, defunding police will only cause the deaths of more innocent people.
