Fatally flawed: Political extremism thinly veiled as selective intellectualism
I went into this podcast trying to have an open mind. Listening to the advertisements I knew I disagreed but hey maybe I’ll see things from a new perspective. Boy was I wrong. The hosts make it very clear they’re coming at this from a “police abolishment” stance in which they’re happy to bash law enforcement but don’t come up with any other alternative. The only alternative they jokingly allude to is a husky dog that will deliver whisky to criminals. One of the hosts Robert Evans even openly discussed pulling shifts for CHAZ security. A security force that chased down and brutalized vandals. And a security force that murdered an unarmed black child whose high crime was driving a stolen car. A security force that didn’t even last a month before becoming demonstrably worse than the police establishment they vehemently hate. And for a man as reportedly as well travelled as Robert Evans to call the US Police “the worst in history” would be laughably ignorant if it weren’t so dangerous. American police have their faults but they’re not even the worst currently on the continent let alone history. For reference see the Mexican police force which works hand in hand with the cartel and who will openly ask for bribes when asked to take a report They also like to cherry pick facts and figures the at only fit their narrative while conveniently glossing over the ones counter to their point. Such as the fact that the CHAZ saw a 500% increase in violent crime in its short life Atlanta is seeing huge spike of shootings in the wake of the Garrett Rolfe arrest. Occupy Wall Street encampments we’re rife with sexual assault. All in all terrible podcast with dangerous ideas. I would have rated it 2 stars just simply because their cherry picked facts were at least well researched. But by the end they were literally cracking jokes about police suicides.

Too many funny asides, not enough really serious research. It’s setup is basically, fact, joke joke joke, fact without a lot of substance behind it. This podcast is great and timely but I think a few more weeks of research could have led to a much deeper, more insightful podcast.
