To Sara...
A few mom friends and I were listening to the recent Bumo episode and we were honestly shocked at the callous nature of your comments regarding the Itaewon stampede. To imply that these young people were caught in this situation because they should have known better “to make good choices” and giving unwarranted advice, “Your friend group should be a relatively smart, educated, thoughtful group. Know who your friends are.” Really? This is a tragedy that caught the world’s attention and shocked everyone precisely due to what an unfathomable freak accident it was. Your own personal dislike of Halloween aside, 156 individuals are dead and there are 156 mothers grieving the early loss of their children. Many of them, brilliant and innocent young people, who were celebrating the continuation of a life that they put on pause for the safety of our elderly citizens. Itaewon is more than just a sleazy hub for clubbing and bars these days, and Halloween in Korea is largely no more than an excuse for the youth to have a little fun getting dressed up and experience the flavors of American culture. No expert analysis was expected, but considering the decision was made to bring it up and address it, it would have been much more palatable had you reserved your very obvious and unwarranted judgement. We were too nauseated to finish the rest of the episode. You lost a few listeners today.

But in The last podcast, Sara says that if you’re listening to this you can certainly afford $100/week for help shows that although both of you acknowledge you’re privileged you both are out of touch.
