“While it’s true that I thought Abby’s voice might have been synthesized the very first time I listened, I quickly realized she was human, and came to appreciate Berlin Briefing as a short daily dose of local news to start my morning. I found you through Common Ground, a remnant of KCRW Berlin and former NPR Berlin, all three now gone or indefinitely suspended. I’ll be returning to the US at the end of this month after a second stint of three years in Berlin, so this is just one of many things I’ve been saying farewell to these weeks, something one does all the time, of course, but much more right now.
I wish you all the best and you should have no regrets for doing something that gave you purpose and joy, but letting it go when that was no longer true. A heartfelt thank you is well deserved, and I wish you all the best.
