“This is my first time ever commenting on a podcast - I had such high hopes for this podcast since Betches is great on Instagram but I had such a visceral, negative reaction to this episode that I just had to pop my commenting cherry. First of all, not every NYC bride is planning to spend $600k+ for flowers for one day (I mean that’s a down payment on a awesome brownstone that you can have for the rest of your life) so I feel even worse for people listening who are not from the area / don’t have a ton of money to spend on a wedding. The disdain at only spending $10k on a wedding was such snobbery - as was suggesting that you talk about your opera singing aunt behind her back to make it “more fun” (grow up and tell your parents you don’t want her to sing!) The whole thing had a “you can’t sit with us unless you can spend $1.6MM on one day” vibe - Taylor seems funny and likeable (I am new to her) but talking down to 99% of your core audience won’t get you followers that use your sponsors (it was funny that the sponsor was an “affordable” bridesmaid dress site!) I’ll listen again to see if all the feedback gets taken into account, but if if the content stays this ridiculous, you’ve lost me.
P.S. I DO like the idea of sticking extra flowers in the bathroom! That’s the one good idea I got from this 45 min podcast.”
