Good podcast that takes from other sources & lectures
Really torn on the content of this podcast. Always want to support ABC radio programming & podcasts, but please make, find & fund more local content. The lecture on critical thinking was equally good & frustrating when we are asked to look for the truth behind famous claims & statements in the media or from authority figures & authors. As stated in the episode; there are so many opposing data sets & counter claims available with so few being adequately reviewed that critical thinking to its fully researched extent (where it actually becomes useful & enlightening) is far easier said than done. You can only check & compare so much data or info before it all becomes indecisive mental noise. The world & things in it are complicated but our words & explanations are often simple, primitive & emotional. This is the problem with practical critical thinking in our noisy, hyper fast, 24/7 fake news world. *roll on snare drum*

Big ideas is just that, it explores ideas in depth in a way that is missing in ‘quick grab bites’ seen in much information dissemination today. Thanks for the show, myself & many of my friends and family members listen.
