Interesting, but frenetic
I’m not a huge fan of the current NBA but I grew up during the Jordan and Kobe eras & I loved the idea of a behind-the-scenes look at the old guard. Jackie’s narration is great but I felt a tad lost during the episodes. While the individual stories/anecdotes presented are all fascinating and left me feeling like I learned something new, they didn’t live up to the series’ billing as a cohesive reveal at an exclusive club. It felt more like random stories loosely tied together through overarching topics (e.g. social justice).

The book was great and I guess this is the closest we’ll get to Simmons’ always weak threats to update it.
