Religion is Necessary
I’ve seen a lot of criticism of the inclusion of Christian doctrine but I think it’s very important to know. Most of the perpetrators of white supremacy identified as Christian and it is useful to know how white supremacy is in reality a bastardization of Christianity. With that knowledge you can also engage with people today that believe in Christianity but do not believe in systemic racism which unfortunately is quite correlated. It’s very similar to understanding how foreign terrorists that identify as Muslim are also bastardizing another beautiful religion. Understanding Islamic doctrine in that context can help combat Islamophobia just as understanding Christian doctrine can help combats white supremacy.
