“To get the full value of great science fiction and fantasy, its not enough to simply mull over the smallest details. You have to mull over the details with other friends and fans. And this podcast delivers. With humor, insight, and appreciation, the show always begins that the only thing better than Star Wars, is talking about Star Wars.
For the true nerds and geeks out there, we know that the best stories are centered in the massive universes they exist in. No matter if it’s film, TV, or literature, we love the like of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Doctor Who and the rest because of the ability to let our imaginations run wild. Star Wars has always had a special place in the sun (or galaxy). The realm has had it’s good and bad, ups and downs, but it’s never spotted generating that love from the fans. It’s a series that’s strange and uniques and yet still for everyone, from the casual nerf herder, to hardcore moof milkers.
It’s important to understand that when you start listening to Blast Points. I figured I would start with one episode and portion it out over the next week. But low and behold, six hours later, I was still listening. The Blast Points team isn’t afraid to get into the nooks and crannies of the universe, but still keeps it casual and fun enough for the most casual listener. Their humor, charm, and excitement over the material is good for any audience. And that’s why their introduction is important. I listen to the show for six hours and at once want to get coffee with some buddies and discuss wether Jango is better than Boba.
The show itself is a solid mix of general Star Wars topics, impressions and opinions for every caveat of the series, and speculation for the next episode and the anthology films. They have some great guests from the Rebel Legion to official artists from the franchise. And I loved their little Kids Questions and Answers segment. Seriously, can’t wait for more.
Next topic I look forward to: Best Minor Characters From Star Wars (or How Bib Fortuna and Greedo are the best characters), Star Wars from The Female Perspective, and was Rey Immaculately Conceived? Great work, and may The Force be with you.”
