Confused - it’s only 7 episodes?
Updated - second series This gets better and better as the various plot lines come together the back story becomes more believable. Really enjoying the second series. First post Shouldn’t you explain it’s just a trailer up front? Just got into it and it’s ended. Ah! Listening to author interview and it’s a season thing not a novel trailer. So confused. My third podcast so not sure what I’m listening to, what it’s meant to be and no context to explain. Really great themes and believable plot so far. Well acted. Well described. I felt I could predict outcomes chapter by chapter though. I was a little ahead of the plot and there were no real surprises. I think it would have added depth to know the parents first, to like them, believe in them more before the plot unwound so you feel the shock. Some quite strong nasal American voices but I think that’s an accent thing. Sounds like they are recovering from a cold so it’s a little distracting to an English ear. I was thinking “Why don’t they wait until they have recovered, or is having a cold significant?” Then I heard the author and he had a cold too! Believable relationships and character development. Natural believable dialogue. Good plot chapter breaks. Now I learn there’s a season 2 . Do we care? Not sure. I will probably listen if I come across it.

I enjoyed the first couple of episodes and even purchased the wondery plus subscription..it got so boring that I was forcing myself to finish it. I made it through all six episodes of season one, but I was actually disappointed that it wasn’t just completely over, won’t be waiting for season two.

So boy was I sad when the second episode ended, & so did my binge! I kind of want to try to force myself...Read full review »

This podcast is almost like listening to a play. I love how they bring the characters to life. Forensic files meets the big screen. Love it!
