If you want true crime, skip it
I downloaded this podcast quickly this morning for my commute to work. Apparently, I selected this one too quickly. I assumed Blood Ties was a true crime podcast because I’ve listened to a couple other true crime series produced by Wondery, both of which were excellent. Within 5 minutes of the first episode of Blood Ties, I found myself wondering whether this was fiction or an awkward audio reenactment of real life events. By the time I got home from my evening commute, during which I listened to another 45 minutes, I was pretty certain this was faux true crime and confirmed it with a Google search. If you like crime fiction with familiar plot lines, I guess the series is ok; however, if you’re looking for true crime, skip it.
