I do enjoy listening to this podcast and I understand it’s a breakdown of the books, but sometimes the going into things is way too much and I don’t think really necessary. Some things they have went into made me not like the book as much when it’s my favorite series to read. I think there’s too much of dissing characters (even though it ends up fine later), instead of just enjoying and letting the story unfold. Such as the whole conversation about Mor (S2E8) just being added to the book bc she needed another woman in the series, which I think is false bc Mor is more (haha) than that. Also the comparison between Rhys and Tamlin and those rants are a little much and I often disagree (which to each their own lol). I also think there’s too much nitpicking and ragging on Rhysand that I just get annoyed and bored. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Rhys stan and I know him and tamlin have a lot in common, but it’s unfair to diss him when he was just trying to keep Feyre protected/etc. He ends up being the good guy eventually, so just make the points and move on and quit going back to them and digging deep. I think there’s more dissing in the podcasts than just enjoying the story. Also, I get the misogyny stuff and everything but I just feel like that doesn’t belong in a fictional book podcast. I get it I really do, but it’s just too much for a fictional book where people read to enjoy and not hate. I know there are points to be made, but too much is too much and makes me turn the podcast off at certain points. Some things that are compared like Feyre making Rhys drink her blood by shoving his head onto her arm and comparing it to a man shoving a woman’s head down to give him head was a reach and I don’t think a good comparison at all. Sometimes the dissing and digging “deep” of the book/characters/etc is a little much. I feel as if the dissing and such makes the podcast feel more gloomy instead of exciting? It takes the fun out of the book and “BookTok”. So far in Season 2, I feel as if there’s too many side conversations that I forget where we are in the book and end up just skipping a lot or changing my podcast. I really wanted to like this podcast and rate it high bc I love this book series, but sadly now I’m having to unsubscribe ):

The only bad thing about this pod is there’s not enough of it yet! I binged this so quick and was devastated when caught up. This gives me my acotar fix when I am trying to have the self control to not reread the series again! Plus so many new points of view and insights. Love love love

I came across these ladies on TikTok and IMMEDIATELY began to listen to their podcast! I love the way they deconstruct the series and point out all the little nuances SJM has so brilliantly incorporated into the series. Can’t wait for everything that’s to come in the future books & any others...Read full review »
