Doctors, (and various inspiring professionals), who are also organ transplant recipients, truly demonstrates the advancements and achievements of modern medicine, and the limitless potential of chronic illness today. The future of medicine calls on both patients and medical professionals, working together, to navigate the unknown and provide knowledge. Knowledge is an essential building block for growth. This is how new chapters of medical textbooks are written. This is how approaches/interventions/ treatments/ outcomes/experiences, and understandings are discovered and taught for the betterment of, “both sides of the stethoscope.” What a relief the future is now. I wish this podcast had existed 18 years ago when I received my heart transplant!
