“I’ve been listening to this podcast for a couple of months but can’t quite say that I’ve learned a whole lot. I would say I have my personal finances in a really good place though, and this podcast would likely be a really great resource for someone just starting out with creating a budget or budgetary systems/structure.
Another thing that I think has turned me away from this podcast is that I just don’t really feel like it’s made with people like me in mind. I am a woman of color and I find Mikaela’s views and advice lack any kind of intersectionality. There are (few) times where she’ll acknowledge that there is systemic racism that plays a role in cycles of poverty for people of color, but it’s very surface level and comes off as “well, that’s just how it is and you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps.”
Like I said, some solid pieces of advice but I just don’t think this podcast is for me.”
