“I’m listening to the episode on tongue tie and it’s impact on airway health and Im so relieved I could cry! For years I’ve searched and searched for an answer for WHY my four year old has such terrible dental health despite a clean diet, strict brushing, oral probiotics and etc. We’ve visited countless dentists and they all give the same assumptions of “must be a crappy diet and poor upkeep” and dismiss us with no answers. I’ve read countless books on nutritional deficiencies , studies on pubmed, and scoured the internet for any possible reasoning and keep coming up empty handed.
He had an incomplete tie revision at 18 months old. Now, at almost 5, he has signs of sleep apnea (which I didn’t know until this podcast!), enlarged tonsils, and the worst dental health I’ve ever experienced but FINALLY it all makes sense! Perhaps this isn’t the answer and I’m jumping the gun, but if a tie can cause sleep apnea, and sleep apnea can cause mouth breathing and enlarged tonsils and poor dental health than MAYBE this is the answer I’ve been searching for for my baby. THANK YOU for direction!! We’re going to be visiting a preferred provider for oral restriction ASAP to see if this is the answer for us. 💓”
