Needed voice that asks hard questions
I found this after hearing Bret’s incredibly thought-provoking interview on Joe Rogan. These guys are willing to stick their necks out and ask some unpopular questions in the interest of exploring logic. They seem ethical, genuine, and no doubt can sleep at night because they use their brains to pick apart ideas rather than jump on whatever bandwagon will earn them the most social capital. I just listened to the Sam Harris interview after seeing some critical reviews of that particular episode. It sounded like Sam showed up for an interview and Bret showed up for a debate, which made parts of the conversation sound a little antagonistic. Maybe Bret and Heather are better suited for positing and talking through ideas than conducting interviews (TBD as I listen to more) but it’s a mistake to ignore their ideas because of their style, even if it’s not yours.
