Utter nonsense
As someone who policed south London shortly after this period I can say with complete confidence that the version of policing that Peter Bleksley describes is utter rubbish. He should feel completely ashamed of himself because he knows perfectly well that what he says about policing at the time is not true and all it does is further fuel urban myths of police brutality, racism and corruption. He is a shameless self-publicist and all of the brave and professional police officers who used to work there and who still do want nothing to do with him. Very sad times indeed and the only people who benefit from this nonsense are criminals and noisy activists.
