Under-researched, tone deaf and uneducated opinions
This is the most tone-deaf and under-researched podcast, full of uneducated opinions, on the subject of war in Ukraine I’ve listened to. “Origins of the Ukraine Crisis” misrepresents so many things about Ukraine, Euromaidan and the current political climate I don’t even know where to start. You guys should do real research next time. Not just try to seem unbiased by mentioning the pro-Russian or pro-Ukrainian views of the authors you choose to quote. These, of course, are your opinions and you’re free to express them. But I’m afraid that you’re building a very incomplete and sometimes outright wrong picture of what happened and keeps happening in Ukraine. Also, “no one is better off after what happened in Ukraine from 2024 on” - really? I could name a few tens of millions of people who for these 9 years have lived in a country which was making big steps to becoming an actual democracy, with freedom of speech, independent reporting, digitalization and political integration to some actual democratic values. As opposed to being an increasingly autocratic addition to Russian sphere of influence as each country which maintains ties with Russia currently is. My absolute favorite (being a Ukrainian refugee in Europe right now) jewel is “many people wanted to be part of Europe, well, now they can stick around - yeah, het a refugee status” - oh yes, why of course, THIS is how we wanted to become part of European Union! Let’s ignore the minor difficulties you’ll breeze through like losing your home, having nothing, losing your career, and being separated from your family all in one instant. Let’s ignore the fact that it was not “just get our people to Europe”, but “get the democratic institutions actually working IN OUR COUNTRY, so we could live better here”. We wanted to be Ukrainians and we wanted our home to be integrated into democratic institutions because then we could live better in our own country. Not just move to EU. Seriously. Think before you say thighs, yeah?

The episodes with god interviewees as commentators are very very good, but unfortunately the two main hosts are not great. Their knowledge of the world is contradictory - on one hand they attach “corporate media” in America on the other hand they eat up the media narrative being offered as the...Read full review »

Found this podcast the other day and have been working to it constantly! They talk about great topics and one thing I love is how topics from the past evolve into conversations about today. I also like that they have some different social/political beliefs; it’s a great way to listen to two sides...Read full review »
