Why the tiptoeing?
I found this a desperately sad listen, but it did seem that the presenters wanted to avoid judging the Hart’s so badly that they verge on over correcting and seem to excuse them instead. I found this really perplexing. Obviously there were deep seated issues that led to both choosing to commit suicide, but they also murdered six children. It’s strange that the word “murder” is not even used on the epilogue episode. They refer to the Harts a con-women and acknowledge the abuse but seem to lay all the blame at the system’s feet. There were definitely failings in that regard but the Harts were also 100% responsible for their actions and it’s just odd the podcast is so reluctant to say so.

More reviews of Broken Harts
This appears to be a well though out and researched podcast. I hope they are able to shed light on what contributed and led to this tragic and horrific incident.

I have been fascinated about why this allegedly wonderful family ended up at a bottom of a cliff. Thank you for bringing awareness to this heartbreaking event.

This show is extremely interesting from the start. Each episode is well thought out and told. It’s the audio version of a book you can’t put down.
