Beautifully done, but cynical toward the Midwest
This is a wonderful podcast that holds nothing back from the listener about the complexity of the situation of it’s subjects. Truly, landmark reporting for the modern age of in-depth journalism. Nihilism and meaningfulness collide effortlessly to the audience. I am, however, disappointed in how the Midwest is portrayed as a backward, backwater stuck in a sort of bygone-era-cultural-stasis. I realize this is reporting the view of the subjects perception of their social environment, but it’s seems under contextualized by the reporters, and that renders the listener with a distorted view of the region, as if the culturally problematic issues in the Midwest are some how more sever that they are in the country as a whole, which they aren’t. Those problems loom everywhere and no region is immune to such cultural inertia. The Midwest is a complex place. As complex as anywhere else. We all need to reflect on where we live, the surrounding areas and how change we want to see in the world is and isn’t happening there.

I’m so glad there’s a Podcast about these innocent children. I feel the news didn’t cover as much as they should’ve. Thank you!!

One episode in—so far, I’m really excited at the quality of the production and investigation. Main narrator has a good storytelling voice, subject is compelling and the story is arranged nicely. Well done, ladies. Keep up the good work!

The promo for this podcast sounds amazing. I’ve listened to the other available podcast on the Hart Family murders, and although it had good information peppered in the various episodes, it was not especially smooth (some episodes could have been shaved down to 10 min of information, less...Read full review »
