We claimed that you have to stop and stare at it for a certain amount of time, but this is incorrect. The actual puzzle requires you to stand in a VERY specific spot, wait for some gauges to stop flashing and THEN kick the wall. Not quite as frustrating as we made out, but still pretty tricky.
