“Insightful podcast on the broader design industry. Dennis is an excellent host and interviewer. He’s up there with Terri Gross of NPR (high praise in my book!), in terms of his research, thoughtful questions and ability to get his guests talking.
I particularly enjoy the variety of guests, which represent multiple facets of the industry - from executives of vendors and retailers to storied designers. As the name of the publication / podcast imply, listeners not only receive a personal / professional background of the guests but also an in-depth view on their business, its history, current challenges, business strategy and new ventures.
As a former finance professional turned interior designer (McGovern Project), it helps me to get a broader perspective on the overall industry - changing business models, industry headwinds/tailwinds, and operational challenges. It’s also helpful to hear guest’s view on the broader market segmentation of key players. (Dennis I’m sure would admit he might be slightly obsessed with RH or at least his guests view on their disruption to the industry and rightfully so as it often leads to insightful commentary on the balance of good design / quality / price.
