“I believe its good, especially when you make a part for the 1st time to run your machine a little bit scared.
I don’t mean be scared of your machine or be scared of breaking tools, but rather have massive respect for your machine and what kind of damage it is capable of doing from just 1 little mistake. There are so many details and variables you have to be on top of before you make your 1st chip it’s easy to forget 1 small step.
By running your machine scared you naturally heighten your senses and can stay super focused and locked in. Don’t ever become over confident, always be aware that something can happen at any moment and have quick reflexes to identify the problem and stop the machine when necessary.
In 30 years of running cnc’s I’ve never had a serious crash or accident. Remember, a cnc can’t think, it does EXACTLY what you tell it to do.”
